Ethan Gamer + Poptropica
This week's Poptropica video feature is from back in the archives. May 2016 to be exact!
We loved watching the first time Ethan Gamer played Poptropica. His joy over the Hot Dog costume, in the end, is as pure as it gets! We'll admit, it's a favorite among the Pop Creators too!
Do you remember your first time playing Poptropica? What did you love about it?! Let us know in the comments below!
the first island i played was escape from pelegin rock it was so hard so i watched a video
I remember it like it was yesterday... My best friend is always showing me new games to play. One day, before she moved away, she gave me a way to keep in touch. The link to POPTROPICA! I first played mythology island, and I was marveled by the amazing technique and programming the creators used. I only started playing last October, so now, with Early poptropica, being able to play islands I have never seen before amazes me. I hope Poptropica stays for future generations to come!
BRING BACK THE OTHER FRIEND PAGE!!! PLEASE!!!
Yeah!
I played poptropica all the time throughout elementary school but I quit because the game got lost a lot since the game was just a few years old at the time. Later on in 7th grade I wanted to give it one more try and I loved it! I played it since and I still have that account I made in 7th grade to this day. That's why my name is Invisible Ring. And I LOVE my poptropica name; it's the best name I ever had on Poptropica!
On accounting first time experiences, my first grade class and I played poptropica all the time, and our favorite islands were Early Poptropica and super power island. Poptropica was only a year old at the time so there weren't a lot of islands to choose from but we diidn't care. All we cared was that we could make our poptropicans do somersaults and fly and run and catch bad guys! It was realy fun just to keep making new avatars and play around with them for a while. We all beat the early poptropica island but we really had a hard time with super power island so we would all watch each other figure out how to beat the bad guys one by one, and then we do it ourselves. We had similar experiences with Poptropica at our local library at that time. Even in the neighborhood, we would play Poptropica together and tell each other when the next Poptropica islands were and when they were coming out. As a little kid, that experience was just plain exciting...
Later on when I set up my Invisible Ring Account in the 7th grade, I was astounded by how much Poptropica changed. First, the mythology, 24 carrot, and time tangled islands were updated with more dynamic art, and now there was background music! When I talked to the carrot mayor, I did not expect him to cry while he was talking! It was actually kind of a shock. Second, there were TONS of islands compared to last time. The newest islands had dynamics and sound just like the updated islands, so I was sure to put on my headphones and turn up the volume. The first one I chose was Mission Atlantis. It was AWESOME playing a new island and getting a surprise each step you take, and it blew my mind when I found it was a multi-part island. It was suspenseful, it was thrilling, and best of all, it was the first island I ever beat all by myself. No walkthroughs, no watching and learning from friends. Just me, figuring the whole thing out. If you've ever figured something big out all on your own for the first time, then you'll believe me when I say it was a jubilant experience that I would never forget. I felt as though I was experiencing that adventure for real. I felt that way with all of the poptropica islands I never played before and conquered on my own. But Mission Atlantis was what started it, so I decided that Mission Atlantis is one of my favorite islands.
No sooner than I beat the quest did I come across with Poptropica Realms, my all time favorite part of poptropica. There's so much to do there! It was awesome to explore the castle and find the hammer! Learning to build with the hammer was cool, but it took me years to learn how realms works! It took a long time for me to realize I could make anything I want if I had enough poptanium. It took me longer to discover I had more than one realm to enter and explore. To mine for poptanium, to stand against the wild animals, weather, and mountains and to control my health bar... All this took years... But it's the journey of Poptropica Realms that I love. There was so much to do that I never needed a membership to keep going. Eventually when I did get a membership 4 years later, I checked the member information and found that members could share their realms. So when I did that, I found out how to make new realms, some of them being member-only crystal and fire realms. Even now, I'm still learning new things about Poptropica Realms. Ever since I played poptropica for the first time in 1st grade, and set foundations as Invisible Ring for the first time in 7th grade, Poptropica has been a life changing adventurous experience for me, and it still is! Poptropica, in these tough times of a CC-13 coronavirus and the transition to HAXE, I wanna let you know that you have my support. Once a Poptropican, always a Poptropican! (I had to split my 3 comments because this was too big to publish as a whole)
I want original islands on the map, please.
My first island was nearly a decade ago. It was Early Poptropica. I was pretty young, so I just used the walkthrough for the whole entire thing.
Oh how I miss old poptropica, the old profiles, the personality questions, the comics, the mini-games, all the cool stuff in the shop, the islands, the feeling of mystery and secrets surrounding it all. Nowadays the profiles are bland, personality questions, comics and mini-games are scrapped, very small and disappointing stock of items in the shop, most islands you have to pay to play, the feeling of mystery has been lost with age.... I miss the Poptropica I fell in love with
Me too I feel the same way I want the personality questions baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I first started playing poptropica way back 2008. It was the time before super power island was released and since then, I've been playing the game. I always look forward to new islands. Can't believe it's been 12 years since then.
