One last update before the weekend… Just this Wednesday, Episode 2 of PoptropiCon was released to members on desktop and mobile! And SPOILER ALERT, we can’t stop thinking about it.

 

To celebrate its return, you’re invited to join the PoptropiCon Challenges! This round of community challenges is a bit different from previous ones. Instead of offering just 1 prompt, you have a bit more freedom to create what you want to make. Choose from 2 different challenges (or try both)! ?

 

Show Off Your Dream Cosplay Outfit!

 

We might not be able to recreate costumes and ideas from other brands, but that doesn’t stop us from having fun seeing what other fandoms you’re in!

 

For this cosplay challenge, dress your Popsona with different costume pieces from your closet to make your own character-inspired outfit! Experiment with it! Again, you have full creative freedom. You can try to get as close to your cosplay idea as possible, use the same color pallet, or revamp the character’s original outfit to reflect your style! If you prefer putting pen to paper, that’s perfect too! Draw your Poptropican in your dream cosplay outfit!

Make Your Own Mighty Action Force Card ?

 

Episode 2 features a Mighty Action Force card game, highlighting superheroes and villains! Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to design a Mighty Action Force card for your Popsona!

But, you don’t have to follow this design! If you want to tweak the layout or include other info – DO IT! Think it would be cool to highlight your Popsona’s stats? Go for it! Want to list your favorite islands, costumes, characters? FOR SURE. Draw your Popsona, brainstorm a slogan/stats, and add some flair! ?

 

Again, you hold all the creative freedom for these challenges! As long as your submission is age-appropriate, you’re good to go! The sky’s the limit.

 

 

Everyone that enters the challenge will have the chance to earn huge credit rewards! After the challenges are over, your submissions will be posted for the Pop community to enjoy! Try finding other players that share your interests/fandoms!

 

The PoptropiCon Challenges will end on Wednesday, February 9^th at 8pm PST! Send in your dream cosplay outfits or your custom Popsona card through the submissions page. Be sure to include your Popsona’s nickname with your design!

Thought the goofy goodies were only limited to Adventure Outfitters? Think again! As Goofball Island’s release inches closer, we’d like to celebrate by challenging you to a Goofy Clubhouse Challenge!
 

We challenge all Poptropicans to decorate your clubhouses in the goofiest way imaginable! Don’t be afraid to go ALL OUT! If you need a little nudge in getting started, try converting your cottage with crazy combos, clashing decorations, and unexpected placements to get a feel of the challenge. If you’re asking yourself if your cottage is a bit too bizarre, you’re on the right path! The wackier, the better. Do you have decorations that you’ve thought were too weird or would look out of place? This is the perfect time to pull those out of your inventory!

 

As a reward for your silly transformations, the 3 most outrageous clubhouses will receive an awesome credit bonus that can be spent in Adventure Outfitters, the Baron’s Cabin of Curiosities, or the clubhouse store! To enter, please use the submissions page to submit a short video of your clubhouse or send us your account username so we can check out your bizarro arrangements ourselves! The Goofy Clubhouse Challenge will last exactly 1 week, and will end on Monday, November 22nd, at 8pm PST.

 

BUUUUUT, don’t forget about November’s ongoing costume contest! This month’s costume contest ends this Friday, November 19^th, at 8pm PST. Create (draw, sketch, paint, etc.) and submit your original outfit designs for the chance to be one of the select few players that have won their costume and art in the game. With Secret of the Jade Scarab Island now emerging on the map, the time to unearth a new adventure is nearly here! Before we set off to explore the distant lands of Egypt, there’s still a few important questions remaining. Do you know anything about your destination? Are you truly prepared for the journey? ?

 

In celebration of the upcoming island release, we’re challenging the Pop community to design an Egyptian artifact! You can create a completely original artifact or redesign a preexisting one! Have you ever imagined what it would be like to be an archaeologist in Egypt? Would you love to search dig sites and pyramids for ancient artifacts? If you’re fascinated by ancient worlds and archaeology, this challenge is right up your alley!

 

You can include Egyptian mythology, hieroglyphs, rulers, monuments, you name it! As long as it’s age appropriate and you’re the one to draw it out, you have free reign over your creation!

 

Players that join the Jade Scarab fan challenge have the chance to win whopping credit rewards for their efforts! Submit your artifact drawings by Thursday, April 28^th at 8pm PST through the submissions page.

During a quick cruise through Adventure Outfitters, we noticed Amelia’s still offering tons of winter garments and Valentine’s Day gear! Choose from 7 different layered looks to help brave the cold, as well as 5 V-Day surprises to make your Poptropican feel festive. Visit the store to add this month’s lovely new additions to your wardrobe! ?

 

 

Moving onto Poptropica’s infamous sky pirate! Heads up, Poptropicans – the Baron’s setting sail tomorrow! If you haven’t already browsed through the Airship’s pop up shop, be sure to stop by the Baron’s Cabin of Curiosities before the Airship departs from Home Island.

 

The Baron’s bounty for the month includes “The Rockette” free costume and PoptropiCon themed clubhouse décor. Shop for an Omegon Mask (200 credits), convention poster (50 credits), Pony Bros poster (50 credits), and Glass Display Case to house your Mighty Action Force figurines (200 credits)! Like the MAF game in Ep. 2: Spoiler Alert, your first challenge is to create your very own game card. You can design a trading card for you Popsona, a superhero, or just about any other fictional character! Print out the blank template or save it digitally to get started. You can make your card as simple or detailed as you want! Draw a picture of your inspiration and add extra details like power levels, slogans, or stats. When you’re finished, enter a picture of your card creation through the submissions page.

 

 

 

• Option 2: Design your dream cosplay outfit!

In the spirit of PoptropiCon’s cosplay traditions, imagine your favorite character’s costume that you’d LOVE to wear! Have one in mind? Recreate your dream cosplay outfit by scouring your costume closet for the perfect outfit pieces OR by drawing your ideal costume! Once the finishing touches are added to your dream outfit, send in a screenshot or picture of your design through the submissions page. ?‍♂️

The Poptropica Land public preview begins this Thursday. Now everybody will have an opportunity to change the world.

As promised last week, we'll also be challenging your creativity during this free preview. During the two week challenge, we'll be asking for your best creations to fit one of four themes. We'll be posting our favorites right here in the Poptropica Creators' Blog!

To get your wheels turning, here's the list of themes and when we'll be accepting submissions for those themes to be considered among the Best of the Land:
