Check Out the Friends Beta Release! ?
The time has come Poptropicans! The Friends Beta release is here! ?
Time for you to put on your thinking caps, test out the new friend feature, and give us your comments about what you think!
This Beta version will allow you to add friends by username, ✏️ change your name (!!!!), and visit your friends' clubhouses!
In the official release, you'll be able to remove friends AND you'll be able to hang out in clubhouses together!
That's right, now you and your actual friends can hang out in Poptropica AT THE SAME TIME.
Get to testing and let us know what you think in the comments below!
I like that you're able to add your friends by username and change your poptropica name, but I really do miss the old friends tab where it'd show your interests and what your scared of and whatnot. Especially being able to see how many islands you've completed.
Right, we need the old personality test and displayable tribes and medallions
Those were called the Pop quizzes. I loved em too. Who didn't? The island photos were a blast as well. But the tribes were my favorite! Each tribe had their own common room back then. It was so cool! Also there wer more games in the common rooms back then too. Balloons, star link, and sky dive are still around, believe me I love them! I miss hoops and paint war though. I hadn't played pathwise or soupwords that often but those were fun too.
The old friends tab I guess you could say was like another dimension to poptropica fun! But We really appreciate what you guys have done so far. I am not even in haxe yet but I can tell it will be a lot easier to make friends and play with friends now. Thank you!
Yeah, you're right! Before we were able to see our medallions and islands that we completed, as well as how many times we completed the islands. Poptropica, you should add that back! And the pop quizzes, too. They were fun. And you can get to learn a bit about your fellow players.
Poptropica, what happened to the island photos? You should put them back in the friends' page! Some of them are pretty funny!

Yeah medallions and WHAT ABOUT THE PHOTOS?! I reallllllly want to see my photos from all the islands
Nice but still fixing the lag and the graphics and making them at least HD should be a priority, also I don't like the fact that nothing has changed for years. I don't want something like poptropica world but at least making the game look better. Lastly I think that the nicknames should be removed in favour of standard usernames. About the standard usernames, we should have a option to edit those.

What I love about it is that they put a lot of action in it I love the costums and the worlds are awsome
There used to be a friends' line. All of their friends would be standing in a line and every time they would want to see more friends, they would just wave their cursor over the left or right of the line and all of their friends would walk in the opposite direction of the cursor. It was really cool, especially for people who had a lot of friends. So, can you please bring that back? It'll also bring back a lot of nostalgia for original players. So please bring back the friends' line.
Ya, add the ability to choose different Themes, and one of the Themes available would be Classic which would function the same as the classic Poptropica friends list
This would also mean that you have to get rid of the scrolling line and bar. The friends' line is an easier and more fun way of seeing all of your friends!
Original players... I never thought of us as those but you're right! We are original players! We knew Poptropica since it first came out!
No, wait... the friends' feature came out in either 2011 or 2012, and Poptropica released in 2007, so it's not really all that original, but it will still bring back nostalgia for players that have been playing Poptropica for at least 9 years.

Honestly it looks kind of plain when will we get cool things like our outfits or medallions or at least decorate the background no offense but I am kind of dissapointed

Cool! Personally I'd like for tribes and medallion counts to be added back. Also, if messaging comes back, maybe people could get notifications for when someone sends something to them?
Tribes and tribal common rooms were my favorite. And yeah... only if messaging returns do we need notifications. I can't believe we hadn't thought of notifications sooner...
Hm Maybe Don't Add The Firend Request In This Menu Like The Old Poptropica Menu And Add Sui Costumes Work In The New Poptropica

Yeah, I want the personality quizzes back, the airport island, time tangled island reprogrammed available to all,early poptropica and the rest of the islands as3, and sound thing too, also i want shrink ray island,monster carnival,mocktropica,abarian nights 1 2 and 3, poptropicon 2 and 3, and survival 2, 3, 4, and 5 back on the map please!!! Also I want old school as2, counterfeit,cyptrids,ghost story but without the wind and torch thing, skullduggery, wild west, and spy island, nabooti non members please converted please! also please bring back those fact monsters i never got to see them also the arcade in early poptropica i never got to see that either. i think. with the last one.
We all want them back. We need to just keep calm and be patient and keep letting poptropica know what we think. But you're right. I saw fact monster pictures back in the day but I don't think I got to know him either. I ESPECIALLY AGREE WITH YOU ON ALL THE SPONSORED ISLANDS. Poptropica! They... Should... Not... Be... Members... Only. It's true they're sponsored, but seriousley! They've been available to everyone all the way up until like 2016, when all the islands were set up and the conversion process began. Suddenly blocking all the sponsored islands isn't fair to those who can't get memberships. It's not fair to those who hadn't even finished or started them either. There have been membership packages for like 10 years now, so it makes no sense trying to block islands in the last few years. and I am positive that there are more than enough membership benefits so that you don't need the members only islands. PS. The legendary swords returned in 2019 and thanks to haxe conversion its gone again. Please bring back legandary swords AGAIN. Thank you.
True, but they spent a lot of money bringing back the islands, AND with the converting process. If they didn't charge like, $2.99, how would they support poptropica at all?
And what about the costumes you can get in poptropica profiles
so i have the beta poptropica account and i have a older account. Basically, i have 2 accounts on two different versions of poptropica.

Can you add a costumize feature and a grid kinda thing so it will be easier to see the friends. and also the personality things. ESPECIALLY MEDALLIONS
So my review is gonna be split between the new friends page by itself and in comparison to the old one
so by itself it pretty good, a little simple but it does everything a basic friends page need to do! easy to use and understand
some thing minor to add is having at least your own poptropican do its little idle bounce/eyes follow cursor in the icons and maybe like the clouds moving in the background
I had some very very minor text bugs where my character name loaded as the wrong font until i hovered over it and then the last couple letter of my character name weren't visible, but that only happened once and it might have been a loading thing but letting you know just in case
In comparison to the old friends page, the minimalism is more noticeable, i'm trying to not be too nostalgic for it but i do miss the player stats/info like how many islands someones completed or which tribe theyre in but i also realize those things could be on like s separate stats page for players, you could even add stats about someone high scores in all the arcade games
This last thing may just be blatant nostalgia but i miss the photo album so much, if you make a stats page for player or something like that please bring back the island photo album
i like the progress though!
I love all of these features, but could you add some of the old ones back? I really liked the question of the day so you could get to know your friends better. Thanks!

Honestly, I liked the other one better because you could see all the costumes and go to other peoples profile and i like the fact that you can add and delete friends but my favourite is really just the first friend page so if you can, Can you please change it back to the first one.
